図面の上だけでは、見えないことがある。
かたちだけを無理に追えば、どこかに歪みが生まれてしまう。
　
だからこそ、できる限り考え、その無理を和らげた“良いかたち”を表現できるように心がけている。
目には見えにくいその部分こそが、作り手にとって本当に大切なところなのではないか——
日々、そう感じている。
　
工場では、鉄・ステンレス・アルミ・真鍮などの金属を用いて、什器や建具などを製作している。
それぞれの金属には、もともと備わっている固有の美しさがある。
けれど、その自然な美しさだけを前に出せば、個々の特性ゆえに適材適所とはならない。
だからこそ、その美しさをどう生かすかを考えながら、手を動かしている。
　
日々繰り返す「同じようで同じではない」もの。
積み重ねてきた経験と技術を通して、機能と美しさが共に備わるかたちを探し続けている。
それこそが、人に寄り添えるものになり得ると思う。
そして、いつの時代であっても「つくる」ことは、本質的で原始的な営みであり、自然と導かれるかたちや美しさに人は惹かれるのだと思う。
　
そんなことを考えながら、日々製作に向き合っている。
　
※社名になっている「CRHOMES」は、ステンレスに含まれる耐腐食性の元素 “クロム”に由来し、ものづくりへの錆びない熱意を込めている。

There are things that cannot be seen from a drawing alone.
When you force a shape to fit the plan, distortions inevitably appear somewhere.
　
That is why we think carefully, as much as possible, to ease those strains and express what we believe to be a “good form.”
It is often the parts that are barely visible—the subtle details—that matter most to the maker.
That is what we feel every day.
　
In our workshop, we work with metals such as iron, stainless steel, aluminum, and brass to create fixtures, fittings, and various objects.
Each metal holds its own inherent beauty.
Yet, emphasizing that natural beauty alone does not always bring out the right balance or function—it must be considered and shaped with intention.
That is why we keep our hands moving, thinking constantly about how best to bring out each material’s character.
　
We repeat the same processes every day—similar, but never the same.
Through the skills and experiences we have accumulated, we continue to search for forms that unite function and beauty.
We believe that only then can our creations truly become something that resonates with people.
　
No matter the era, to “make” something is an essential, primal act.
People are naturally drawn to forms and beauty that seem to emerge effortlessly from that process.
　
With these thoughts in mind, we face our work every day.
　
※ The name CHROMES comes from chromium, the element that gives stainless steel its corrosion resistance.
It embodies our unwavering, untarnished passion for craftsmanship.

長澤 孝典
1971年大阪府八尾市生まれ。親族の営む工場にて金属加工の技術を修得し、2004年に独立。
以後、店舗什器や建築金物をはじめとする別注装飾金物を手がける傍ら、インテリアデザイナーや作家との協働制作を通じて、素材と表現の可能性を探求してきた。
2016年にCHROMES株式会社を設立し、組織としての仕事と個人の表現活動を両立させながら、ものづくりに取り組んでいる。
2023年には、家具・インテリア用品を中心に、機能美を追求したプロダクトブランド「UID.」を立ち上げる。

Takanori Nagasawa
Born in 1971, Yao City, Osaka Prefecture.
After mastering metalworking techniques at his family’s factory, he became independent in 2004.
Since then, he has specialized in custom metal fittings and fixtures for retail and architectural spaces, while also engaging in collaborative projects with interior designers and artists to explore new possibilities in materials and expression.
In 2016, he founded CHROMES Inc., pursuing craftsmanship that balances both organizational production and personal creative expression.
In 2023, he launched UID., a product brand dedicated to functional beauty through furniture and interior objects.

ロゴについて
硬く直線的な素材としての金属が、金属加工により様々なかたちに変容し、最終的に機能を持ったモノへと変化する。
加工技術が優れていればいるほど、経験と引き出しが豊富であればあるほど、その変化は多様で美しい。
一定の規則性とシャープさを保ちながらも、自由に変化するそのさまを、「CHROMES」というタイポとそれを囲う一筆の線のバリエーションで表現しました。
